In August, 1946 Norma Jean, the aspiring actress and current model, signed her first studio contract with 20th Century Fox and changed her name to Marilyn Monroe. Her first significant role on the big screens was called the "The Dangerous Years." After this she then starred in numerous roles such as, "Lady's of the Chorus", "Love Happy", "The Asphalt Jungle", and many more. Marilyn was starting to make a name for herself and her fans were growing by the second. She proved women were not just housewives, expected to rely on a man, but independent hard workers.
